Membership Plans

Why should I join the membership plan offered by Life Force?

Should you ever require transport from Life Force, your membership can reduce costs not covered by your insurance carrier such as deductibles and co-payments. A paid membership plan helps to support our service and allows us to continue providing care to your family, friends and neighbors.

Why does the ambulance service cost so much?

A professional ambulance service requires expensive, fully equipped vehicles costing about $135,000 each to provide reliable service to the community on a 24 hour basis. There are many hidden costs such as insurance, vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, telephone, fuel, radio equipment, utilities and of course payroll associated with staffing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Does Medicare or my insurance pay the ambulance bill?

Medicare pays less than half of the total price for your transport. Commercial insurance companies vary on their reimbursements rates, most follow the Medicare payment schedules and apply a yearly deductible and co-payment. By purchasing a membership you can save 50% on these non-covered membership costs. Review your insurance plan to determine if these non-covered costs apply to you.

What is covered under a membership?

All covered members are entitled to unlimited emergency and medically necessary non-emergency ambulance transportation. Members without insurance or not having ambulance coverage within their plan are eligible for a reduction in charges equivalent to the current Medicare approved fee schedule for services when they are needed.

What is not covered under a membership?

Ambulance transports deemed to be non-medically necessary as defined by the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services, as well as wheelchair van transportation. These services normally result in charges to the patient.
